How CCS Works
The Child Care Subsidy is calculated based on three main factors:
- Income Test: Your combined family Adjusted Taxable Income (ATI) determines your subsidy percentage. For 2025-26, families earning under $83,280 receive the maximum 90% subsidy.
- Activity Test: The hours of recognised activity (work, study, volunteering) determine how many subsidised hours you can access per fortnight.
- Hourly Fee Cap: CCS is calculated on the lower of your actual fee or the government's hourly cap ($15.60 for centre-based care in 2025-26).
